Museum Road Site Goes Solar
18 Sep 2024
As part of our efforts to become more sustainable, we have just completed the installation of solar panels along the rooftop of Museum Road’s Lady Abraham Hall buildings. These will reduce our reliance on electricity produced elsewhere and will be the first renewable electricity generation on any of Lincoln’s buildings.
This building project also integrated maintenance and sustainability, with the key reason for the works being the need to retile the roof, which has given us the opportunity to install solar panels at the same time. In addition, we will also be improving the roof insulation to make the building more energy efficient.
Juliet Tye, Lincoln’s Sustainability Officer said: “It is great to see these solar panels in place and know that we are now generating our own electricity. This project also launches a series of buildings projects we have planned over coming years to decarbonise our estate and as such is also a major milestone on our journey to reduce our emissions.”
