In response to the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the tragic refugee crisis this has caused, the College has launched the Lincoln Ukraine Scholarship Appeal. This special appeal will fund undergraduate and graduate scholarships for refugees from Ukraine, allowing them to start their studies at Lincoln in academic year 2022-23. Lincoln is inviting the alumni community to come together and make a gift to the appeal, and help talented young Ukrainians start to re-build their lives and fulfil their academic ambitions.

In true Lincoln spirit, the JCR are taking part in supporting the undergraduate scholarship, by donating the surplus from their JCR REACH fund, which supports scholars from low-income countries:

“Each year, every member of the JCR is invited to make a voluntary donation to the REACH programme - this year it was £9.  We have enough in the JCR REACH account to also contribute support to the Ukrainian offer-holder, whose place at Lincoln has been put at risk by the invasion.  We hope you will join us, and make a gift to College’s appeal.”

Jamie Butler, Lincoln JCR President (2021-22)

The College will also award a graduate scholarship to a scholar from Ukraine, for admission onto a one-year, full-time postgraduate taught course. This scheme will see the College provide free accommodation and meals within Lincoln, and a stipend of £7,500.  The University is providing access to relevant welfare services and is waiving graduate course fees.

To learn more about this initiative, you can do so on our Lincoln Ukraine appeal page.  We are hugely grateful to our fantastic Lincoln alumni and friends for their support of these scholarships.
