Lincoln student awarded an MBE for services during the Covid-19 pandemic

25 Jan 2021

Congratulations to Dr Gareth Hynes (2016), a current DPhil student in Clinical Medicine at Lincoln, who has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honour’s list for services to medical education during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Gareth, a Specialist Registrar in the Respiratory Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals (OUH), has temporarily put his studies on hold in order to help with the Covid-19 response and has been directly involved with organising and co-ordinating the regional response to the pandemic for hospitals in the area. Alongside this, Gareth continues to work on the Respiratory High Dependency Unit, caring for patients with Covid-19. Gareth was also awarded one of the OUH Junior Doctor of the Year Awards in 2020.
