Associate MCR Membership
1. Eligibility
The MCR President and the Tutor for Graduates may recommend the following as Associate Members of the MCR:
a. Former members of the College engaged in postgraduate or postdoctoral work in Oxford within ten years of matriculation; this normally means employment by the University of Oxford or one of its colleges to undertake academic or research activity. Former members of the College will normally be considered eligible for Associate Membership only if they left the College in good standing.
b. spouses or partners of Ordinary Members of the MCR;
c. visiting graduate students and other mature scholars who are working with a Fellow of the College.
2. Discretionary Nature
Associate Membership is a discretionary privilege. Applications are considered and approved at the discretion of the MCR President, the Tutor for Graduates, and the Governing Body.
3. Restrictions
a. Associate Members of the MCR may not be members of another College.
b. The decision to grant Associate Membership will be subject to approval by the Governing Body, which meets twice per term (in 2nd and 8th week). Applications must be received by 9am Monday of 0th week for consideration in the 2nd week meeting of the Governing Body, and by 9am Monday of 6th week for consideration in the 8th week meeting of the Governing Body.
4. Privileges
Associate Members will be allowed the following privileges:
a. access to the MCR;
b. the right to dine in Hall;
c. a battels account at a level agreed with the Bursar and reported to Governing Body.
d. participation in MCR events, where permissible.
5. Limitations
Associate Members may not:
a. access the College Library.
b. bring guests to events.
6. Fees
Associates pay a Membership Fee of £70 per academic year (or £35 per term).
