On Monday 8th January, a team representing Lincoln College appeared on University Challenge for their second match of the series, against Imperial College London. The team from Imperial College London was incredibly strong, and the Lincoln College team missed out on some very narrow margins on several starter questions. The team from Lincoln College began to pick up the pace more towards the end, but unfortunately Imperial College London’s very strong start proved too great to overcome, resulting in a final score of 120-250.

Alex Baker, team captain, said, “Whilst it was a shame to lose relatively early in the competition, it was wonderful to take part with such a lovely team, and it was an honour to represent Lincoln College in the competition. Imperial were a very strong team, and we all wish them the best of luck for the rest of the competition!”

The College wishes to applaud and thank the entire team for their performance across both rounds, and the many hours of hard work they put in preparing for the shows. Team members include: Ella Warde (Master's Mathematics and Statistics); Mehmet Tatoğlu (BA History); Anna Drummond Young (PhD Chemistry); and reservist Artur Harris (DPhil Philosophy).
