On Thursday 10 October, Lincoln headed to Tate Modern, London for a night of revelry as we marked the launch of the campaign to celebrate the 600th anniversary of Lincoln College.
Guests were greeted at the door by a string quartet and given the challenge of summarising Lincoln in three words. Some of the most common were cozy, friendly and home.
Everyone then headed up to the top floor where they were met with breath-taking views of London lit up at night and a glass of the exclusive, limited edition Lincoln 600 sparkling wine.
The room was abuzz with seven decades of Lincolnites who had come together to mark this special occasion. It was soon time for our speakers, Jane Jenkins (1982), Nigel Clifford (Rector) and Nupur Patel (2012) to take their turn on the podium. Each of them highlighted what an achievement it is for Lincoln to be close to this milestone and perhaps more importantly that none of it would have been possible were it not for the generous alumni and friends of the College whose generous support has not only kept it standing, but moving and growing with the times.
Then came the premier of the 600 Campaign video, which you can watch below.
The Lincoln alumni community reaches across the globe and for those who were unable to attend the event at the Tate Modern, they had the opportunity to celebrate the Campaign launch at one of the 25 ‘Toasts across the Coasts’ which took place across five continents. Take a look at some the pictures!
The 600 Campaign hopes to celebrate what makes Lincoln special and showcase the importance of donating to five unique pillars of the College: Global, Forever, Historic, Collegiate and Open Lincoln. To learn more about the campaign, please visit our new 600 website.
