EPA Grants: Support for Summer Research Placements (up to £2000)
Undergraduates studying Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Physics or Engineering (particularly where there is a connection with the biosciences) are eligible to apply for a grant of up to £2,000 to cover the cost of a summer research placement (based on a maximum of £250 per week for 8 weeks). These grants are intended to support students in gaining research experience that will benefit their future careers. Applicants will need to upload confirmation of the offer of a placement, and/or their proposed supervisor’s approval, to the application form. Applications will be reviewed in Hilary and Trinity Terms.
Notes on applications
- The application will ask for details of your tutor, who will be contacted and asked to support your application, along with details of your proposed research (including dates, costs, other sources of funding etc.).
- You should read the terms and conditions of the grant before applying. Successful applicants must write a short report on their experiences, to be submitted to the Administrative Assistant (email@example.com), along with proof of placement attendance, or the College will ask repayment.
- The activity must take place in the long vacation. Applications are not accepted for placements scheduled for after the completion of FHS.
- It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all information, including tutor’s reference, has been submitted by the deadline.
Applications are open year-round. Applications are assessed and awards are made twice a year: on the Friday of 6th week in Hilary and Trinity Terms.
