Lincoln College Telethon

In the coming days, before our students arrive back for Michaelmas term, we will be holding the Lincoln Telethon Appeal between Tuesday 24 September – Monday 7 October, to raise funds for Lincoln and ensure that we can continue to provide a first-class education and pastoral environment to our undergraduate and graduate students. Our fantastic team of student callers will be calling Lincolnites to share College news, seek advice, and also, and invite our alumni to make a gift to the Appeal.

To everyone who has kindly and generously donated to Lincoln in the past - thank you. Your gifts have allowed us to continue offering students the opportunities and resources they need to flourish.

We are excited to launch our Lincoln 600 Campaign in October this year. This campaign aims to ensure that the College enters its next century prepared to address the challenges that will bring. Our priority project is Student Support, which is used to funds hardship awards, study skills support, and student welfare provision. Additionally, we will seek donations to the Area of Greatest Need, which allows us manage unexpected financial challenges and for example, our student clubs and societies.

A huge thank you to all our regular donors, who help sustain Lincoln.

For more information about the 2024 Telethon, or to request a specific time for a call, please contact Tiffany Luo.

If you would like to make a gift directly, you can do so easily online at /alumni/make-a-gift. All contributions from the 2024 Telephone Campaign will count towards Lincoln 600 and are received with immense gratitude.

I'm thrilled to join the Lincoln Telethon this year. Witnessing firsthand how the Annual Fund enriches College life—from the College Musical and sports teams to bursaries and scholarships—has been inspiring. I'm honoured to be part of the team championing these causes and eager to engage with and learn from our diverse alumni community.

Being a part of the Lincoln College Telethon is a fantastic opportunity to improve the student experience for current members of College and alumni alike. I am eager to see first-hand not only where such important donations come from, but also have the chance to thank alumni for their incredible generosity. It will be an extremely rewarding experience to be a part of something that helps ease the anxieties of so many students, who can go on to achieve and excel without the burden of financial stress. I am excited to be able to speak with alumni about their own great achievements in their careers and in life, and to find out how their experience at Lincoln has shaped them and their careers!

Hi, I'm Bea (she/her), a second-year History student. In my free time, I've joined a bunch of Oxford societies from bell-ringing to running and knitting to student journalism. I was a caller with the telethon last year and I really enjoyed talking to alumni and learning about what people from Lincoln have done since leaving! It was really interesting seeing how support for the Annual Fund is raised as it plays such an important role in College life.

I'm proud to be working with the Lincoln Telethon this year. Since I started at Lincoln in 2023, I have found it so easy to fit in. The opportunities I've been provided with are excellent, and it is the support of the annual fund that makes these possible.

In Hilary term I took up rowing with LCBC and had the privilege to race in summer 8's on the Men's second boat. In a university setting, I've been writing for the Isis. Lincoln has let me find my feet with complete ease, and it's become home to me, as I'm sure it was/is for you.

I’m really looking forward to being a part of Lincoln’s Telethon team this year and chatting to a range of alumni. There are so many parts of College life that the annual fund supports such as bursaries, scholarships and societies.

When I first arrived at Oxford in Michaelmas 2019, I knew Lincoln was special. What I perhaps didn't realise was just how profoundly my postgraduate experience would be shaped by the College. I would go on lead the graduate community as MCR President and learn the lifelong skills of rowing and coxing through the College Boat Club.  At every stage of my Master's and PhD journey, I have been supported by Lincoln, benefitting from our superb staff and generous alumni network. I am excited to join the telethon to strengthen our links with Lincolnites in the wider world and to ensure that the next generation of students can access the same Lincoln experience as I have.

Hi! My name is Sara, and I am an incoming second-year lawyer at Lincoln. I am really excited to work for the Lincoln Telethon this year. I have personally benefitted from the generosity of alumni through bursary schemes, and I am happy to have the opportunity to give back to the college and fellow students.

I am proud to be participating in the Lincoln Telethon because I have seen the positive impacts of the Annual Fund upon College life, ranging from supporting student extra-curricular activities to maintaining the tutorial system and providing bursaries. I am involved with VacProj, which benefits from the Annual Fund and, as the 2024-25 JCR Environment and Ethics Officer, am excited to see what donations could mean for sustainability at Lincoln. I look forward to speaking with and learning from members of our diverse alumni community.

I have hugely enjoyed my first year studying history at Lincoln. The friendly atmosphere helped me settle in immediately and I am incredibly excited to continue my course at such a wonderful place. I feel such a strong sense of belonging within Lincoln, so I think participating in the telethon is a great way to help contribute to the college. The annual fund is a big part of Lincoln life, allowing students to get involved in sports or arts, and explore wider areas of their degree without a financial barrier in their way. I am looking forward to speaking with alumni, to hear about their experiences within college, and to reflect upon my own first year in the process. Our community is great, and I wish to help strengthen the bond between college and all its members.

I am very excited to take part in the Lincoln College Telethon, as I have seen firsthand the impact of the Annual Fund, both on a personal level and a general one. It makes me proud knowing that Lincoln is the number one College for student support and for that I cannot wait to help Lincoln as a caller this year as I know that all the donations will truly make a difference. I am also looking forward to talking to so many different alumni from different backgrounds.

I am Micon and am currently a DPhil student in Immunology at Lincoln. I look forward to working for the Lincoln Telethon this year as I have experienced first-hand how donations benefit the experience of College life at Lincoln. I am member of the Lincoln Boat Club and the Lincoln Running Club, and a previous active member of the MCR committee. The annual fund has helped support the costs of sports activities that require various kits, equipment and entrance fees to races. I am very happy to be part of a team that is working to support this while also sharing my experience as a Lincoln student and learning from Lincoln Alumni.
