Congratulations to Anna Drummond Young, a current Lincoln graduate student, who was awarded the Nanoscale Horizons, Nanoscale and Nanoscale Advances Poster Prize at the recent Faraday Discussion conference on Iontronics in Edinburgh. The prize was awarded for her poster presentation, 'Cation dependence of polymer-induced noise in nanopores'.

Anna is a DPhil student in the Thorneywork Group in the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory. Her research lies at the intersection of chemistry and physics and currently focuses on developing novel methods to probe polymer adsorption at the single molecule level using solid-state nanopores.

Anna said, "I am very grateful to Lincoln college for funding my attendance at this conference via the graduate research fund. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet other scientists working in the same field, and to encounter novel research into nanopores and confined ion transport. I am also honoured to have my research recognized with this prize and I am very thankful for the support of my group and especially my supervisor Prof Alice Thorneywork."
