Social events in College must abide by all Government, University, and College regulations. From 17 May, in accordance with national restrictions, up to 6 individuals from different households, or two households of any size will be permitted to mix indoors. Given the large size of some of our households, we would encourage you to limit household mixing to a maximum of six people indoors, even if it is just two households meeting.
While outdoors, you may meet in a group of up to 30 people. Groups of more than 30 outside remain illegal. Because the College’s outdoor spaces are small and are overlooked by student bedrooms, teaching spaces and offices, we ask that groups of more than 6-8 congregate outside of College.
Please also remember that the Government has introduced an £800 fine for those attending house parties, including in halls of residence, which will double with each repeat offence to a maximum level of £6,400. These fines will apply to those who attend illegal indoor gatherings of more than 15 people from more than two households.
We ask everyone to do the right thing by being sensible, careful and considerate. Think about the effect your actions may have on those preparing for and writing exams in their rooms - keep noise to an absolute minimum, and follow all Covid precautions in order to keep yourself and those around you safe.
