"My journey this past year since becoming a Lincolnite has been immensely rewarding and transformative. Not only have I been able to dive into my academic interests, but this first year has also allowed me to grow as a person and join this wonderful Lincoln community.

It’s for this reason that it is such a privilege to have been elected as this year’s JCR President. I’m excited to ensure that the College community remains as welcoming and supportive as it was for me. It is in this same spirit of giving back to the College that I, or one of my fellow students, would like to telephone you in the coming weeks. We’re keen to hear about your memories of Lincoln, the paths you took after graduating, and any pearls of wisdom you can share with us! During our chats, you’ll also get to hear about College news and find out how student life has (or hasn’t!) changed. The callers will also speak with you about this year’s appeal and seek your support for the Lincoln Annual Fund.

The Lincoln Annual Fund supports key areas of College, including student support, which ensures that finances do not prevent any deserving student from receiving a first-class academic and pastoral experience of Oxford. Thanks to our terrific and active network of alumni, Lincoln consistently ranks amongst the top colleges for financial support per student, allowing College to offer bursaries and scholarships, student hardship awards, and bespoke study skills and welfare support. All gifts, large or small, together make a difference to the student body and help contribute to the exceptional community for which Lincoln is known.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first year at Lincoln, getting fully stuck into not only my course, but also Oxford and college life in general. The telethon is a fantastic opportunity for me and other students to learn from alumni, about not only their experiences at Lincoln, but also about their lives after university. I’m privileged to have been the recipient of bursaries from Lincoln’s generous alumni in the past, and I’m greatly looking forward to being able to use the telethon as a way of not only conveying that thanks, but also demonstrating that Lincoln continues to be fantastic in supporting all its students.”

I have had a lovely time at the college so far and I am looking forward to being a part of the telethon team! Life at Lincoln has been the highlight of my university experience and it has been so enriched by the generous support college provides for sports teams, student societies, social events, and academic assistance. I would love to give something back to the community before I leave and the telethon seems the perfect way to do that. “Starting my DPhil in Psychiatry in October 2024, Lincoln and its welcoming community shaped my experience at Oxford from day one. The college itself and its societies are a big part of my daily life, be it rowing for the college boat club or our active MCR community. It is an incredible resource of support during my studies.
