Presenting our 2023 matriculands!

No other event signals the start of the academic year so joyously as Matriculation Day. Saturday 14 October saw nearly 200 Lincoln students assemble in the October sunshine in readiness for their formal admission to the University. The [accompanying] video captures the excited chatter of the freshers as they left Lincoln en route to the ceremony at the Sheldonian Theatre, where they were warmly welcomed by Vice Chancellor Irene Tracey. The Deans of Degrees Louise Durning and Perry Gauci were proud to present “hos nostros scholares” to her, and they look forward to doing so again when they graduate. Matriculation completed, the throng returned to Lincoln for their formal photograph, where they were greeted by alumni attending the autumn Murray Day. Some of the latter could recall their own matriculation 70 years before, and they joined the College in wishing the students every success for their time at Lincoln.
