Profile

Dr Pamela Lear studied at Birmingham Medical School and University College London, before joining the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics at Oxford University (DPAG) as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Developmental Biology in 1993 and Lincoln College as a Lecturer in Medicine in 2013.

Dr Lear is currently an Academic Visitor in both DPAG and the Institute for Chronic Diseases (CIMUS) at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, while conducting a collaborative study on the regulation of fat mass by intracellular channels.

In parallel with her research, Dr Lear has taught extensively on the Oxford Undergraduate Medicine and Biomedical Sciences courses, in several Colleges and centrally in the Medical School. For Lincoln, Dr Lear currently gives tutorials to 1st-year medics on the Organisation of the Body.
