The Housekeeping team will clean shared student kitchens and bathrooms twice per week. Schedules showing which days the Scouts will be in will be posted in each accommodation area. They will replace wash cloths and tea towels each time they clean your kitchen. You will need to clear down your kitchen before the Scouts go in to clean, and you will not be allowed to enter either kitchens or bathrooms when the Scouts are there.
Please note that Scouts will not enter any households in which students are self-isolating. During periods of self-isolation your household will be expected to clean your own kitchens and bathrooms.
Scouts will not clean student bedrooms or en-suite bathrooms during term time. You are expected to keep your bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms clean, and will need to supply your own cleaning products. They will clean bedrooms and en-suites during vacation periods for those with term-time only contracts (1st and 2nd years), and by agreement for those on full academic year contracts.
You are responsible for removing your own rubbish and recycling, and placing it in the large bins located in each accommodation area. There are different bins for mixed recycling, glass, food waste (at some locations), and general non-recyclable waste. There will be black (general waste) and clear (mixed recycling) bags left in most communal areas and staircases. Please see here for a guide on what can and cannot be recycled.
