Open Lincoln Day of Activities

Date/Time 21 Feb 2026
Location Lincoln College, Oxford
Attendees Lincoln community

Alumni are warmly invited to join us to celebrate 'Open Lincoln', the College’s 600th anniversary theme for this year. The event will commence with a conversation – between Thomas Hale (2008), Shanghai correspondent for the Financial Times, and a current MCR student – to discuss openness in an increasingly closed world. Drinks will be served in the Langford Room after the talk and will be followed by lunch in Hall. We will then be opening spaces that are usually hidden from the public. Did you know that Lincoln has rooms with 17th-century wall paintings, one of the oldest doors in Oxford and 13th-century vaults under the Mitre? Professor Henry Woudhuysen, Dr Louise Durning and Dr Sarah Cusk will be leading tours respectively of the ‘doors of Lincoln’, the painted rooms and the Senior Library. We will also have a tour of Lincoln's medieval kitchen.

We look forward to opening spaces around Lincoln during this special day!
